...and have you actually used any of them for your children?

When I was a teenager, I was rather keen on naming my hypothetical daughter Ransome or Savannah. Boys would have been Florian or Clyde.

None of these even make the shortlist today!

Dorothea and Richard after the kids in Picts and Martyrs!

Rosebud05 · 20/10/2009 22:54

Mine were Cheryl and Sabrina (Charlie's Angels fan). Also liked Jocelyn and Nadia.
Still quite like Nadia, but haven't used it.

pippel · 21/10/2009 08:38

Dulcie
Hester
Elaine
Gloria

I used one of them, I really wanted to use Gloria but I couldn't because I know a Gloria and didn't want it to look like I had named her after her when I hadn't, I liked the name long before I knew her. I think if I had another dd I would use it anyway, its a lovely name even if every time I hear it Im singing "G-L-O-R-I-A Gloria" in my head!

posieparker · 21/10/2009 08:41

Jade, Storm and Xerxes.

Phew, glad my taste improved.

bellissima · 21/10/2009 11:06

Girl at my junior school was called Charmian Tamsin. Oh boy was I jealous. Haven't used either though!

spookypixiebroomstix · 21/10/2009 15:44

When I was about fourteen I wanted a girl called either
Serendipity
or Butterfly

Thank God I didn't lose my virginity for a few years after that

Aubergines · 21/10/2009 15:49

Kylie and Charlene.
...thankfully my tastes have changed.

MonstrousMerryHenry · 21/10/2009 15:51

Olivia
Erica

Haven't used either name on DS, strangely enough, and won't use them if DC2 is a girl.

Fruitbatlings · 21/10/2009 16:02

Olivia (I even changed my name for about a week)
and Rhys

Fruitbatlings · 21/10/2009 16:03

I haven't used either
would use Olivia if when I have a girl - even thought it's become very popular

minimoonumbertwo · 21/10/2009 16:07

Tracy & Michelle so, er, no.

My dh called EVERY SINGLE toy he owned Stephen and had an imaginary son called Alex - haven't used those either.

But there's still time!!

stakethroughtheheartofgold · 21/10/2009 16:08

as a twenty-something folky i fell in love with the name molly from a kate rusby song and thought i'd use it for a daughter. but then it got popular and i thought i'm better than that

i do still love it, but they have a very common surname so it would have been a bit "jane smith".

Sunshinemummified · 21/10/2009 16:14

I loved Rio (for a girl as I was a Duranie) and Scarlett (as in O'Hara) for a girl.

For a boy I liked Aaron.

I haven't used any of them. All became way too popular.

Bambinoloveseggbirds · 21/10/2009 16:21

Nathan for a boy.
Lucinda for a girl.

I didn't name my DS Nathan, nor will I ever name a DD Lucinda.

telsa · 21/10/2009 20:54

Emma, Lucy and Mordecai. I used one of them.
