I had narrowed it down to final two being Noah and Daniel (middle name to be James).
DH not fussed on either really, although he actively dislikes Noah which I love.

Yesterday he said what about Ryan? And I thought hmmmmm I actually quite like it, which is how ds came to be named when we found something that we didnt both hate but didnt both love and now I cant imagine him being anything else

So opinions on Ryan please?

Ooh I relaly like it. REALLY. As long as your surname isn't Air.

PestoPumpkinMonster · 20/10/2009 11:10

mosschops30 · 20/10/2009 11:45

I have a Ryan. So I like it.
[lol at Air]
Have you had him yet? [sorry for not knowing} Why not wait with your list and see. We did this with ds2 and thank goodness because although we thought Josh, we ended up with Nathan.

DiamondHead · 20/10/2009 11:59

If you and your dh both like it, why're you asking us lot!

mosschops30 · 20/10/2009 11:59

I like it a lot. (Congratulations!)

persephoneplum · 20/10/2009 13:27

I like Daniel ten times more than Ryan. I find it really average. Sorry!

Seededbiatch · 20/10/2009 13:31

Meh.

Prefer either Noah or Daniel.

ja9 · 20/10/2009 13:35

sorry. don't like it. love your names tho'....

pointyhat · 20/10/2009 13:36

I quite like Ryan. Your dh seems to want a more standard man name. Ryan and Dan both fit the bill, good sounds.

hobbgoblin · 20/10/2009 13:37

no, don't like at all compared with noah/daniel

Tillyscoutsmum · 20/10/2009 13:39

I quite like Ryan..... prefer it to Daniel but not as nice as Noah imho

I'm a few weeks behind you mosschops and we're really struggling for boy's names as well

Ivykaty44 · 20/10/2009 13:42

I like Daniel ten times more than Ryan. I find it really average.

Don't like Noah James, doesn't sound right to me - sorry

Winibaghoul · 20/10/2009 13:45

I agree that Ryan seems really average. Noah is much nicer.
dp is like this with girls names - Elizabeth and Catherine are his top choices for girls

pointyhat · 20/10/2009 13:47

what do you all mean by 'average'? Daniel is much more popular than Ryan.

shootfromthehip · 20/10/2009 13:48

Ryan is a bit boring for me I'm afraid- MUCH prefer Noah. You should work harder on DH

Good luck with the bump!

motherof2boys · 20/10/2009 14:09

I think I heard of a survey recently where men called Ryan were thought to be the most attractive. George came last but I don't know what the other choices were

gladders · 20/10/2009 14:43

love daniel, quite like ryan but dislike noah...

ryan would definitely have the advantage of not being one of ten ryans in the class? easy to spell and write and no shortenings/nasty nicknames. nice solid boys name - has a lot going for it IMO

lilysam · 20/10/2009 15:12

Think its a bit dull.....Love Daniel and also Noah...have 'Noah James' on my list too...

SomeGuy · 20/10/2009 15:18

I always pictured Ryan as a bit rough.

Noah is fairly staid.

viennesewhirl · 20/10/2009 15:25

We have a Noah - love it - and an Eliot (Eliot James sounds nice, doesn't it?!). I'm not so keen on Ryan, think Daniel is a much more classic, timeless, strong name.

viennesewhirl · 20/10/2009 15:26

Love Nathan, btw. (In response to twit).

HappyBump · 20/10/2009 15:29

I much prefer Noah and Daniel.

Not sure I like Ryan at all. A teacher once told me that consistently over all the years of his teaching that Ryan's were the worst behaved ... obviously a load of old tosh but stuck in my head as the only Ryan I know as an adult is really very unpleasant.

We are trying to think of another boy's name ... am struggling myself at the moment.
