Here's the shortlist of baby names I'm considering that I generated with Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder. Let me know what you think.

Girls
Fleur
Flora

I like Fleur

sophiesmummie · 13/10/2009 13:21

I like Flora. Sounds great in English, Spanish, German and French too!

I'm not keen on the English pronounciation of Fleur at at all.

BarbieLovesKen · 13/10/2009 13:25

Yeah, me too - not so keen on Fleur. No - dont like it at all.

Think Flora is gorgeous though!!

TheDevilEatsBabies · 13/10/2009 13:29

Flora's much nicer than Fleur

Fleur sounds really pretentious

MamaLazarou · 13/10/2009 13:44

I dislike both names.

Flora is margarine. Fleur sounds like 'bleurgh'.

bellissima · 13/10/2009 13:45

Dare one mention margarine.

I know someone named Fleur cos her mum liked the Forsyte Saga.

but personally I think Florie (as nn for Florence maybe) beats both.

WeeHalfPint · 13/10/2009 13:51

Flora - makes me think of margerine

Fleur - sounds like a variation on the flu!

There are far nicer choices, especially if you are looking for an uncommon/older style name

rolledhedgehog · 13/10/2009 13:52

If I had to choose one I would choose Flora. I like it but there is the margarine issue.

lovemybabyboy · 14/10/2009 11:40

I don't like either of them, but, if I really had to choose one then I would go for Flora.

TheDevilEatsBabies · 15/10/2009 14:37

ahem [pendant alert]

margarine is illegal now. Flora is a dairy spread.
thanks

diddl · 15/10/2009 14:44

Like both.
