My mum's name. I love it.

Ondine · 05/10/2011 23:56

I really like it, I think Hepburn not Corrie though.

Im surprised it isn't more popular with all the old lady names being in vogue - it's one of the nicer ones.

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 06/10/2011 00:29

I've been saying this name is on the up for ages - am sure it's about to get really popular. Get in now before it does!

Audrey Hepburn, Audrey Tautou - what's not to love?

tryingtoleave · 06/10/2011 03:44

I think of monster plant too.

In UK, it's going to say "Coronation Street" much, much louder than it says Hepburn.

Amos is no longer a soap name, so associations can and do change, but I think Audrey will continue to be for a long time yet.

Would that bother you?

scarlettlips · 06/10/2011 09:14

IMO i don't think it goes well with your other DC's names. Sounds a bit heavy next to the likes of Iris and Amos.

What about Tanith nn Tany?

Rhubarbgarden · 06/10/2011 09:48

I have an Audrey, so obviously I love it. We get mixed reactions, I think my Dad hates it. Lots of people love it though. I hope it isn't about to get popular. In the name stats there were fewer in 2010 than in 2009.

reallacecurtains · 06/10/2011 10:13

I think it's lovely but prefer Sybil, Daphne and Maude.

tummytickler · 06/10/2011 11:05

Wow - old thread!
I never used Audrey as have had a few miscarriages and still ttc, which is a bummer!
It is off the list though, as I can't escape the feeling its going to be huge, and there are others I love more. Dh was in love with Audrey Horne - I expect that is why he loves it so much Grin
curtains I love Sybil and Daphne!

I don't like it personally.

It's still a popular name in America. Not even top 300 for the UK though.

oohlaalaa · 06/10/2011 14:34

I like the name, but unfortunately Audrey Roberts springs to Dh's mind rather than Audrey Hepburn.

mathanxiety · 06/10/2011 15:17

Good luck ttc Tummytickler. Sorry to hear about the MCs.

(love Sybil and Daphne too)

RickGhastley · 06/10/2011 17:39

I love love Audrey but DH is having none of it, probably quite rightly as we have a very old fashioned sounding surname and poor baby would sound like a 90 year old.

Please please do use Audrey it is so fab and sounds brilliant with your other DC names.

scarlettlips · 06/10/2011 18:41

Ohh Tummytickler i'm very sorry to hear that. Do hope that you get a BFP soon

I didn't even notice that it was an old post Grin

reallacecurtains · 07/10/2011 11:30

I didn't notice either - good luck Tummytickler - I've been there too and things always seem to work out in the end.
