but to be honest we haven't been trying that hard

We keep coming back to Isla-what would be a good middle name-avoiding the usuals (rose, may, grace etc)?

What about Lily? Daisy? Ava? Other suggestions very welcome

I was going to just wait and see but i'd really like to ba able to at least pick a name from a very short-list v. soon after the birth so we can tell everyone, we didn't have a name for dd for several days and I got very fed up with having to explain etc etc!

Isla is lovely

How about a longer middle name, like Elizabeth?

LadyMetroland · 29/09/2009 13:33

other suggestions:

Iris
Imogen
Romily
Jess

I like Isla, and Ava, but IMO Lily and Daisy are too twee for an adult.

What about Joy for a middle name ?

Other first names :

Roma
Romy
Sylvie

To be honest that is what i've been thinking about lily and daisy and have gone off them a bit. DP not very keen on more unusual names-no idea how i've managed to get him to like it!

I think Isla will be the first name-not sure about Joy, a longer name might be better. Surname is 6 letters ending in er.

I agree with LadyMetroland - would go for a longer middle name. Elizabeth is great. Or Milicent, Victoria, Penelope...

I agree that a long middle name would work well.

What about
Isla Catherine
Isla Caroline
Isla Beatrice
