Can Lucy be short for anything?

I really like the name Lucy, easy for child to learn to spell, not over-popular atm (at least in the groups we go to) and 'goes' with our DCs names
Unfortunately it doesn't go with the middle name we want to use (after a favourite relative) which only has one syllable

Any suggestions?

Lucille?

Or maybe Louise?

Lucia?

HeadInAWhirl · 27/09/2009 10:38

Thank you for your help
I like Lucia but wouldn't know how to pronounce it!
The only downside of Lucinda is what if she decides to shorten it to Cindy when she's older (sorry to any Cindys out there)

Does it really matter if it doesnt go with the middle name very well. After all they barely ever mention the middle name through life do they? First name most important.

Dont know what your middle name is but these all sound good.

Lucy Kate
Lucy Jane
Lucy Anne
etc

pyjamalama · 27/09/2009 10:55

Lucienne? You can't really shorten that to anything else!

Anya4 · 27/09/2009 10:57

Could you add in an extra middle name, so that it flows well from Lucy ?

scattykatty · 27/09/2009 20:09

I know so many Lucinda/Lucy's I don't think anyone would elect to call themselves Cindy so go for Lucinda

cookielove · 27/09/2009 21:37

Lucia -

lu - thee - a

lu - ceee - a - i believe this is the most popular way

lu - shee - a

lu - chee - a
