Here's the shortlist of baby names I'm considering that I generated with Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder. Let me know what you think.

They're all fine, normal names. Nothing stands out as particularly exciting or breathtaking. The boys names are all very, very popular. The girls less so except for Eve which is so overdone the Eves are starting to cancel each other out round here. Soon there will be no children left.

I adore Sally - 'tis one of dh's favs too. You don't see it around on little ones much.
Lucy is Ok - bit dull
Eve - no
Zoe - always hated this with no real idea why!

Edward - lovely - classic
Reuben - also lovely, family name for me, but can't use it so i am always really pleased when others do.

Really dislike Aaron, Max and Oliver have been done to death.

I would choose Sally or Reuben

I like Lucy and Oliver from your list

From the boys I would choose Rueben or Aaron. From the girls I like Lucy best, but would probably go with Sally as a lot less popular.

Sally and Edward, there are lots of nice nn for Edward.

Edward or Oliver.

I really don't like Aaron (have taught a couple of horrible ones) or Zoe.

I love Oliver...I have one and he is the only Oliver I know.... Lucy is the only one I like from your girls list.

Sally and Edward. Like Lucy, Max and Oliver too. Rueben and Aaron a bit Cold Comfort Farm for me (throw in a Seth maybe?).

Well we know that this baby is going to be a boy and have updated our (my!) name list...I really can't decide...

i love Edward and Reuben. why are they gone from your list!

aaron would be a spelling and a pronounciation headache.
Eli is a bit too feminine sounding, insubstantial and try-hard
Calum is ok, but it is just so like Colin. I prefer it to aaron and eli though.

My favorite is Callum

Eli, great name.

Sally is very nice, and unusual.

Eve and Reuben my faves.

Boys: Oliver (Oli) or Edward (Ned) - like both of these lots

Girls: Lucy or Eve
