I'm afraid I always think of "Seymour butts" when I hear the name "Seymour"

nevergoogledragonbutter · 05/09/2009 08:53

cariboo, it's too early in the morning for derision surely

I will make a confession: I desperately wanted to call ds Auberon. The family argument (cos of course everyone got involved, trying to persuade me I was out to lunch) lasted for months.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 05/09/2009 08:59

snort at Auberon.

would you shorten to Ron or Obi?

dragonbutter am feeling a tad dejected on your behalf over your little non existant woodrow and seymour - if they're imaginary children then PLEASE do call them what you wish

cariboo · 05/09/2009 09:54

white wine?? pg? tch-tch! I was on hormones!!!

nevergoogledragonbutter · 05/09/2009 10:11

thanks dizzy, i know you understand.

dizzydixies · 05/09/2009 10:43

yes, me and my ridicliously named future imaginary children are very happy together - they're much better behaved, cleaner and sleep better than the 3 I actually have

nevergoogledragonbutter · 05/09/2009 12:00

oh no, cariboo, i'm not pg.
no intention of having any more either.
just fancied a discussion about the names i like.

I am a huge fan of JD Salinger, hence love, love LOVE Seymour.

Someone mentioned Columbus - which I love, too, but be careful with nales ending in 's':

I have a friend whose son is Julius and it sounds very unwieldy when you have to say "Julius's coat" / Columbus's socks"

Just a thought.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 05/09/2009 17:32

thanks for your support.
I loooove columbus and use it as a nickname for DS1.

LOVE Woodrow but would always be Woody.

I'm very fond of Seymour too because of the Salinger book so I think both are very good.

But then, I do live in Brighton.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 05/09/2009 18:23

Are they american names then?
