Baby is due in 6 weeks, I'm fairly sure we're set on a first name for a girl, but need to give some thought to middle names. Our surname has 2 syllables.

Opinions on the following very welcome, as are any additional suggestions.

Eliza Penelope
Eliza Margaret
Eliza Cathleen

Eliza... Struggling now - any more ideas?

Love Margaret. Not sure about the other two. Ruth is lovely, too. How about the perennial Jane or something a bit more unusual - Adeline, Evelyn, Harriet, Geraldine?

Eliza Penelope is a bit of a mouthful, especially if your surname has 2 syllables.

Eliza May?
Eliza Rose?
Eliza Charlotte?

MrsKitty · 24/08/2009 19:24

Thanks for suggestions so far...

Not keen on May or Rose - think they're a bit overused at the moment.

Ruth makes it all sound a bit too biblical for my taste.

Charlotte too much as surname starts with "Sh"

Keep 'em coming!

Evelyn is nice though - adding to list.

Eliza Penelope is great.

Also like:

Eliza Harriet
Eliza Matilda

I thought "Jane" as soon as I saw your thread title. ELiza Jane.

GirlsAreLoud · 24/08/2009 20:46

Beth?

TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 24/08/2009 20:48

I thought Eliza Beth, but that's a but like Emma Leigh, isn't it? Just call your kid Elizabeth/Emily and have done with it!

cyteen · 24/08/2009 20:55

Eliza Verity?

I'd stay away from a second -a name.

GirlsAreLoud · 24/08/2009 21:02

Sorry, I was actually joking

I like Eliza Jane too.

MrsKitty · 24/08/2009 21:04

Thanks for all suggestions so far

Cyteen Yes, I was thinking I should avoid another name ending with "a".

My DD is Eliza Catherine - of course I think it goes beautifully! I was also considering
Eliza Rose, but thought Rose was a tad boring these days, although still very pretty. From your suggestions I'm really liking Eliza Penelope. My other favourites were
Eliza Grace
Eliza Harriet
Eliza Charlotte

MrsKitty · 25/08/2009 08:21

esme Yes, I like Eliza Catherine too (Catherine was my Grandma's name) but it also has a very negative association for DH too so have had to rule it out.

Penelope is probably my favourite at the moment (has very cute association with my DS - he's a big 'Show Me Show Me' fan ) and DH also likes it - was just concerned it might be a bit too much with an already long (syllables wise) first name?

Just seen your name

Eliza Kitty!!

EsmeWatson · 26/08/2009 03:41

Kitty I definitely don't think that Penelope with Eliza is too much at all. I think it goes really well, just gorgeous.
Just thought of another couple I was considering:
Eliza Mary
Eliza Alice
Eliza Lily

Maddy06 · 26/08/2009 11:13

Eliza Kate - strong and beautiful
