Now I have heard some names over the last few years that strike me as odd. But MN frequently tells me otherwise (Velvet being a case in point a few months ago ). DH tells me not to be narrow-minded [sigh]. But DD came back from swimming the other day and told me she had met a girl called Suede. I asked her to repeat it and no I hadn't misheard it.

Am I just hopelessly old-fashioned or is Suede exceptionally strange name for a child?

Lol

I miss them too...I used to stalk Brett a bit, he invited me to share a cab one night after a concert.

Why didn't I do it?!!! Gah

I knew a girl called Pepsi once. That is definitely worse than Suede!

I know a few kids (American) named Sage, both boys and girls. And one Cotton. But Suede and Denim?
What's next, Polly Esther?

I remember being convinced a new girl in my class at school was called Cello. My mum told me I couldn't possible be right, of course I wasn't the girl's name was Cheryl.
