Alfie or Charlie are nice. Kai isn't a real name. Zak is usually short for Zachary or Isaac. Morgan and Jay are a bit bland.

Hollie, Jessica and Leah are nice. Samantha will be Sam/Sammie straight away. Taya - sounds made up. Taylor - a surname.

kidcreoleandthecoconuts · 04/08/2009 17:52

I love Charlie and Leah.
Hollie is pretty but makes me think of christmas.
Jessica is quite nice too.

jellybeans · 04/08/2009 19:00

Boys
Alfie...bit too recent and popular, bit 'babyish'

Charlie., may get 'chaz'..not keen, too popular too

Jay.....not keen, boring

Kai....OK

Morgan...don't like

Zak...like it, short and sharp/cool. Yu don't have to have Zachary, most don't these days.

Girls
Hollie...OK

Jessica...love this

Leah...like it

Samantha...like it but abit 70s/80s. Will get Sam.

Taya...love it

Taylor...dislike.

magbags · 04/08/2009 19:10

The only ones I like are Charlie and Jessica. Both really lovely names. Oh and Zak is nice too actually. Others, not keen.

hulabula · 04/08/2009 19:13

The only ones I like are Kai (it is indeed a boys' name!) and Taya.

Alfie - too babyish
Charlie - prefer Charles
Jay - boring
Kai - nice
Morgan - common/chav
Zak - very 'now' so likely to be many of them around. Would use Zachary on bc.

Hollie - a bit too 'little girly'
Jessica - ok
Leah - don't like
Samantha - don't like Sam
Taya - nice
Taylor - don't like ane a little common/chav

mopsyflopsy · 04/08/2009 19:25

Most your boys suggestions are very 'trendy' at the moment so on that basis I wouldn't choose any of them personally - I prefer more traditional, classic names.

Of your girls list, I like Hollie/Holly and Taya, although the latter may get mispronounced ....

thisisyesterday · 04/08/2009 19:31

i don't really like Kai or Morgan. the others are ok, but a bit popular atm for my liking. the'yre nice names though.,

like all the girls names, particularly Leah and Taylor

drzoolander · 04/08/2009 19:37

Boys
Alfie - like but very of the moment if this bothers you
Charlie- really like, a classic
Jay - good strong boys name
Kai - bit too trendy for my taste
Morgan - Feels to me like an American name
Zak- really like but is going to be very popular

Girls
Hollie - really pretty name, love
Jessica- again really pretty
Leah- really like but it means weary one which puts me off
Samantha - Am a big Sex in the City fan so this puts me off this name!!
Taya - don't like, makes me think of chavs
Taylor- again makes me think of chavs

KIMItheThreadSlayer · 04/08/2009 19:55

Alife [although a bit popular]
Morgan is lovely

Hollie and I like Taya

Bubbaluv · 04/08/2009 20:17

I like Alfie and Charlie, but only as nick-names for Alfred and Charles. Would be hard to take an adult Alfie/Charlie seriously (IMHO).
Love Holly and Jessica and Samantha is actually pretty cool in a slightly retro kind of way - makes me think Bewitched!
Taya and Taylor sound chavvy to me- sorry.
Leah I'm rather ambivelant about.

Deemented · 04/08/2009 20:45

Kai is actually Welsh, but it should be spelled Cai.

HerHonesty · 04/08/2009 21:08

sorry, not really liking any of them but holly is sweet.

notsoteenagemum · 04/08/2009 21:36

Alfie, I love don't think it is babyish, theres still lots of old men called Alfie it is very popular though.
Charlie, also love but very popular.
Jay, not keen, I know a few Jays who are really called John but want to appear cool.I prefer James/Jamie.
Kai is very popular and is a name but should be spelled Cai IMO.
Morgan is nice(I live in Wales though) I only think its 'common' for a girl tbh.Who could call Morgan Freeman chavvy?
Zak is ok, I think its a bit 90's though, makes me think of Saved by the Bell.
Hollie, I like.
Jessica is lovely.
Leah, I really like.
Samantha, I know what Bubbaluv means but it always makes me think page3.
Taya, don't know sounds a bit made up.
Taylor, don't like sorry.

Tillyscoutsmum · 04/08/2009 21:41

Alfie, Charlie and Zak are all ok. Not keen on the others

Jessica and Hollie are nice - don't like others

piscesmoon · 04/08/2009 21:50

Only Jessica and Charlie.
I would like Holly if it was spelt correctly.
Not the rest.

Bubbaluv · 05/08/2009 08:58

Kai means food in Maori.

MadameCastafiore · 05/08/2009 09:01

I go with what Piscesmoon says.

MaElsie · 05/08/2009 13:01

Charlie is the best boys name; Leah is the prettiest girls name.

pasturesnew · 05/08/2009 13:05

Alfie Charlie & Zak OK but prefer as nn for Alfred, Charles and Zachary or Isaac

Hollie OK but prefer spelling Holly, Jessica v nice, Leah v nice, Samantha OK

don't like the others sorry.

Personally I think Morgan is a girl's name as in the evil witch in the Arthurian legends

cyteen · 05/08/2009 13:06

Boys
Alfie - bleh, it's nice but dull
Charlie- middling
Jay - my favourite of your list
Kai - prefer it as Cai, but ok
Morgan - hideous
Zak- dull

Girls
Hollie - much nicer as Holly
Jessica- very sweet
Leah- sounds like 'leer' in my head
Samantha - Sam/Sammy put me off
Taya - not my bag
Taylor- also not my bag
