Thx!

Lee-la.

Friends and I had this debate in years gone by, reading Sweet Valley High books.

On wiki it says Lie-la. I must be the only person who knows a Lill-a.

I know a lay-la too.

nappyaddict · 29/07/2009 15:55

It the short form of Delilah so Lie-la. I prefer the spelling Lilah though.

Lela is Lee-la and Leila can be pronounced Lie-la or Lee-la.

TwoHot · 29/07/2009 17:33

Lie-la

pasturesnew · 29/07/2009 17:39

lie-la

ScummyMummy · 29/07/2009 17:40

If I saw it written down I would have to ask whether it was lee-la or lye-la as I have heard people use both.

HerHonesty · 29/07/2009 18:33

i know lie-la, lay-la and leela. take your pick!

laila is NOT the short form of delilah. it is a name in its own right.

PestoSoggyMonster · 29/07/2009 18:36

Lee-lah

zazen · 29/07/2009 18:43

You gotta hope she doesn't get largish - I've heard a Lila being called Lilo, you know the inflatable mattress.

Sofa put me off Sophie as well.

magbags · 29/07/2009 18:44

Lee-la

nappyaddict · 29/07/2009 22:46

No, Laila sounds nothing like Delilah so of course it isn't the short form of it I was talking about Lilah which can also be spelt Lila or Lyla.
