Why can't you use Madeleine?

Pasiphae · 29/07/2009 12:28

Madeline? Marlene? Mirabelle? Sidonie? Segolene? Philomene? Celimene?

And I like Adelaide too, so that makes two of us in the world!

pointydog · 29/07/2009 12:39

Why not use madeleine?

mrsrawlinson · 29/07/2009 15:25

Is it because of the McCann connection? I vetoed Peter for our next baby for a similar reason!

GirlsAreLoud · 29/07/2009 15:48

Thanks I like Rosalind and Miranda.

Unfortunately someone else in the family is called Madeleine.

PuppyMonkey · 29/07/2009 16:37

I have a Madeleine. Ner Ner emoticon. Only alternative I would have gone for out of all these is Evangeline.

GirlsAreLoud · 29/07/2009 17:38

I like Evangeline, and nn Evie I really like.

But is it a bit similar to Fanjo do you think? Do you hear Efanjoline?

ZZZenAgain · 30/07/2009 17:11

actually I don't see how Eloise is like Madeleine really but I group it as "that type of name" somehow IFYSWIM

I have a niece Madeline and love the name.
I always think Matilda is similar and Tabitha, Samantha, Jemima. There is something nice about the 3 syllables.

Marcheline is very nice and unusual.
