Charlene? As in Scott and Charlene circa 1988? Not for me.

How do you pronounce Myla?

RachieB · 24/07/2009 21:23

hmmm not keen !
Myla is okish but not Charlene !

boodleboot · 25/07/2009 19:22

myla is nice but charlene sounds trashy. myla as it looks - My-La

thinking about it Myla Rose sounds like underwear brand....

jellybeans · 25/07/2009 19:23

They aren't English though are they? I mean, what sort of a name is Charlene in Switzerland, assuming that's where they live?

Lilyloo · 25/07/2009 20:23

Like Myla , not keen on Charlene

Nancy66 · 26/07/2009 00:11

Horrible - but then he is called 'Roger'

FAQtothefuture · 26/07/2009 00:15

that's ok - I'm sure people in Switzerland would think that Olivia and Ruby (top 10 names last year in the UK) were horrible too

expatinscotland · 26/07/2009 00:17

People, they don't speak English at home. Those names sound different in their native tongue.

expatinscotland · 26/07/2009 00:18

I wonder if she speaks English at all, tbh.

FAQtothefuture · 26/07/2009 00:19

but expat - didn't you know that people all over the world are to call their children Jack and Olivia, prounced the English way,

expatinscotland · 26/07/2009 00:22

Yes, because all others names are weird or chav.

Nancy66 · 26/07/2009 00:25

they're both from well to do families - so maybe Charlene is posh in Switzerland, like Kevin is in France.

qumquat · 26/07/2009 10:56

I think German is their mother tongue, so I think Charlene would be pronounced Charl-ay-na which I think is quite nice.

ilovemydogandmrobama · 26/07/2009 11:06

Isn't she Slovakian?

PfftTheMagicDragon · 26/07/2009 11:41

LOL FAQ...where would the world be without our tasteful name choices, eh?

LunarSea · 26/07/2009 11:48

The do seem to like their girls names ending in "a" in Switzerland - top swiss names
