Perdita is actually another name for paradise in theology....Thomas Merton a trappist monk in the sixties wrote about the lost isle of Perdita. Travellers found this paradise island once, left to get others and then could never find it again...

a lost island of paradise is the meaning i would choose to think of than blood loss...

i still like perdita....perdi is a really cute and unusual nickname. i still say go for it....
