What do you think to Isla? Is it becoming really popular?

I know 3 under 1, all with scottish links

I reckon it';s the next Ava

Do you pronounce it

Ai-la (like Island)

or

Is-la (as in Isla Bonita) ?

Very popular in Glasgow - we know I think 4 under 5. Pronounced eye-la.

Girrafes - never met a Taransay or a Gigha, but have been to Taransay (that was some nursery end of term trip!)

I do know a Rona, and multiple Ionas and Skyes. For boys of course there are a load of Lewises, but also Harris, Lorn (a firth rather than an Island) and a Mull (though he is old!)

If DS was a girl her middle name was going to be either Isla (as my family are from Islay) or May after Dh's gran.
We were all set until my mother named her new dog Isla.
I did use to work in a hotel in Glasgow and one of our regular guests was called Isla Mann!
I never could take her phone call or check her in without wanting to laugh!
I said to Dh that if we had a girl and called her Iona she couldn't marry Jimmy Carr.
