DollyPardonme · 08/07/2009 21:24

were they in the desert?

kathyis6incheshigh · 08/07/2009 21:24

Beautiful! But yes, the shortened forms are all awful.

MrsMattie · 08/07/2009 21:25

I agree@kathy. It's a very nice name thinking about it, but Cilla is dreadful - the buck-teethed scouser connotations are too great for me.

Some names should just fade away.

A woman I vaguely know has just named her child Maude Hilda.

tummytickler · 09/07/2009 14:09

I love Priscilla - was on our list a while back, dd was nearly called Maude (toss up between that and Pearl in the delivery room!), and top for next dd is Hilda!

I love them all!

Lio · 09/07/2009 14:11

I love it.

Iklboo · 09/07/2009 14:11

A lady at work who's in her late 50's is horrified that her daughter is thinking of calling her LO Stan

Lio · 09/07/2009 15:22

Stan = better than Satan, no?

Mamazon · 09/07/2009 15:24

dp wants to call any future daughter this because he is a massive Elvis fan.

if we ever have a boy he wants to call it Prestly.

SOOOO keeping the coil in!

PuppyMonkey · 09/07/2009 15:26

Pissy for short, I reckon.

Priscilla, Priscilla, the mighty gorilla...

serin · 10/07/2009 21:52

Josephine I can cope with, but Priscilla?

Have met too many grumpy Maude's to really picture a baby of the same name.

Frizbe · 10/07/2009 21:55

you don't hear Constance much these days either.

simplesusan · 10/07/2009 23:02

I quite like it, Priscilla Presley always springs to mind.
