isn't this fascinating. it is confirming my suspiscion that a lot of posters on baby name threads have children called jack and chloe and think that is adventurous.

DD is in a small school too, about 90 plus preschool. I help in the infants section, so I do know all those names. In junior I know about a third.

Hulababy · 07/07/2009 08:28

Although DD's name appears on this thread a lot (Mollie) she is the only one in her school (90 girls), and there is only one in the infant school (270 children there) I work at, although spelt Molly.

Small school. Not many repeats among the girls, but there's a Harry in every year, and a rash of Isaacs in the infants.

I have a DS in reception class and there are 3xWilliam and 3xKatie

DD3 is in yr6 and there are several boys called Alex, can't think of any girl repeats at all (she is Olivia and I don't know of any other girls in the whole school called that - approx 350 pupils!)

melissa75 · 08/07/2009 18:51

I am really surprised that Lewis has yet to be mentioned...SO many Lewis's!! Also, James, we have 12 in our year group of three classes alone! (KS1)

Other popular ones are Abby, Rosie, Isabelle/a and Zac/k (I have four in my class alone!)

Takver · 08/07/2009 19:32

Small (70 or so) primary in Wales.
DD's year has 4 variants on Ella out of about 10 girls.
Of the boys 2 x Rhys in her year and at least 2 others in the school, possibly more as I don't know the older classes.
There were a lot of Ffions but I think some have left.

newpup · 08/07/2009 21:31

In my dc's school, like Thell, there are a lot of names which are similar to another name. Emily and an Amelie, Ava and an Eva and an Evie, Lily, Libby, Leila, and there is a zoe and a chloe and an olivia and a livia but I don't think, apart from Hannah and Rachel, that any of the girls' names are actually doubled up exactly. It's a small school. I hope that very long sentence made sense.

Other names that pop in to my head are Martha, Jessica, Daisy, Sophie, Anna, Lucy, Ruby, Phoebe, Beatrice... all predictable enough but there aren't more than one of them.

I'd say it's bad luck and you can't tell who's going to end up in your child's class. They'll PROBABLY be the only one, even if you pick Olivia or Emily.

tummytickler · 17/07/2009 21:04

A couple that haven't been mentioned yet (I dont think!).
As from September there will be three or more

Florence
Hebe (I cant believe that!)
Freya

Plus all the usuals (Hannah, Ruby etc).

Isaac, Charlie, Archie, Theo all very popular too.

At dd's school there are 2 Conrads which surprised!
