Boys names please: 2-3 syllables + other pedantic restrictions....

Can you help? we are struggling to find a boys name; but are (admittedly) being rather fussy.

Our Sir name is a bit rubbish, and is short and abrupt (imagine it's "Bog"...!)So I want something 2-3 syllables that won't commonly get shortened.
However we want something Classic / Traditional English (we are both English so don't see why we would call our son Jaques or Hamish for example).
Equally I was one of 4 with the same name in my class at school, so idealy not already in the top 100 names.
And I have a pet hate of first names which are actually Sir names (just too American for my liking)
So, given all that... is there anything left??

Thank you!!

We have the same short surname problem and wanted names that are long enough to match a short surname but not too long to be shortened. How about these:

Quentin
Henry
Lucas

On current experience, kids can shorten most things (our son's four-letter name gets shortened to two), but these boys seem to get the whole thing:

Alistair
Richard
Patrick

..or there's always Graham or Roger. Go on, I dare you. Bet he'd be the only one at any school of your choice.

I knew asking you guys would be a god idea, I keep getting to about 'D' in books and getting bored!
I'm sure what ever we choose it'll be shortened, but some names are automatically shortened
We now have lots to choose from - thanks.
