Middle name to go with Holly...

...or to be more specific a third name that will 'work' with the name 'Holly Ceridwen'.

The first two names are a definite if this bump is a girl (Holly is only first name we both like, and have Welsh ancestry in family so really wanted one Welsh middle name) but we also want a third name...mainly as DS has three names and although it might seem crazy it would seem mean to give this one only 2! We have a three-name boy's name lined up ready but are struggling for a third name for a girl.

Possibilities at the moment:

Holly Ceridwen Rose
Holly Ceridwen Grace
Holly Ceridwen Eloise
Holly Ceridwen Louisa

any thoughts???? or other suggestions??? am open to ideas (other than Jane or May neither of which I particularly like )

Ivy?

The first thing when I saw the thread title was Holly Rose, so i guess that's one vote for your first choice! I think it's very pretty.

I would suggest you keep to one syllable for the third name, they start to sound a bit complicated when you start using more than one, imo.

How strange, that is exactly what I thought too chunkamatic!

Id def go for Rose

Chunkamatic · 02/07/2009 22:44

Great taste cheekster, great taste !

lilolilmanchester · 02/07/2009 22:45

I really like all the names you mention, but I think Rose goes best with your other two names.

Holly Ann?
Holly Mae?

qumquat · 13/07/2009 12:58

Anything but Rose! Every baby I know born this year has the middle name Rose! I would go for Louisa from your list.

mummyplonk · 13/07/2009 16:01

Holly Rose, nice
also like Holly Jane

Ladyem · 13/07/2009 17:14

All lovely names, think I like Rose and Eloise best! I love the name Holly and wanted it if our DC due early sept is a girl, but DH is set on Harriet!!! I was going for Holly Anne.

Just out of interest, how do you pronounce Ceridwen? I'm sure I'm doing it completely wrong!! Is it like kerry-dwen?

belgo · 13/07/2009 17:17

Eloise or Lousia.

Rose, Grace, Mae are all very very common.

bellatrixiata · 13/07/2009 17:21

Ceridwen and Eloise are two of our possible middle names so definite good taste there!

amberflower · 16/07/2009 21:47

Thank you for all the replies

Ladyem - Ceridwen is pronounced Ke-RID-wen - emphasis on middle syllable - but in Wales I would imagine most Ceridwens are shortened to Ceri (pronounced Kerry)
