After months of looking through baby name books and websites and arguing to find a name for DD3 due in 11 weeks we've finally found a name we both can agree on

When i say we've found a name i mean DD1 (4 next wk) has been calling bump this name for weeks and its grown on us and stuck only we cant agree on the spelling (maybe we just love to disagree )

So can we have your advice please
here's the list we have also feel free to add another spelling if you know any more

Maisy
Maisie
Macy
Maci
Macey
Macee
Macie

I like Maisie

MadreInglese · 29/06/2009 14:12

Maisie (assuming you are pronouncing it "May-zee")

or Macey (if you're going for May-see)

thisisyesterday · 29/06/2009 14:13

maisy and macy are different names though surely? maisy has more of a z sound, and macy much more of a soft c/s sound????

anyway, I like Maisy

gillybeanie · 29/06/2009 14:13

think Maisie is the nicer way to spell it x x

paisleyleaf · 29/06/2009 14:13

I hear Maisy and Macy as sounding different
but for either of those 2 names I think I prefer the spellings I've just done

zeke · 29/06/2009 14:14

I would go with Maisy.

zeke · 29/06/2009 14:15

I agree, I would pronounce Macy differently, too.

MumGoneCrazy · 29/06/2009 14:15

We cant decide how to pronounce it either

Dp perfers May-see
and i perfer May-zee

wouldn't go for Macy without the E because it just reminds me of the american department store, so for me either Maisy, Maisie, or Macey

lou031205 · 29/06/2009 14:18

Well you need to get that sorted before worrying about spellings

suwoo · 29/06/2009 14:21

I prefer the pronunciation May-zee, spelt Maisie.

BunnyLebowski · 29/06/2009 14:23

Maisie or at a push Maisy.

The rest of your list aren't names.

lljkk · 29/06/2009 14:26

I like Margaret w/ Maisie or Maisy as NN: as it was traditionally.

magbags · 29/06/2009 14:28

I know a Maisie and a Macy and they are definetely different (although similar) sounding names.

I much prefer Maisie as it is a softer sound imo (May-zee). It is also the more traditional option, if that makes any differece to you. Good luck.

Thunderduck · 29/06/2009 14:31

You've listed at least two different names. Maisie and Macy are not alternate spellings of the same name.

Of the two I think that Maisie is a nicer name.

jellybeans · 29/06/2009 14:32

I like Maisie but also Maisy is OK.

annasmami · 29/06/2009 14:33

I like Maisy (for -zee) and Macey (for -cee).

RetroMum1 · 29/06/2009 14:37

I like Maisy but don't mind Maisie.

Don't like Macy or Macey, it's a different name and reminds me of Macy Gray (didn't like her either!)

Blu · 29/06/2009 14:39

NOT Maci, Macee, anyway!

Littlefish · 29/06/2009 14:45

Maisy (May-zee)

MamaLazarou · 29/06/2009 14:46

Maisie

Karam · 29/06/2009 14:47

mrsradders · 29/06/2009 14:47
