we did like myles but not so sure anymore so have the following names we like, please be nice!
Elwood-Eli/woody as nn
Elias-again Eli as nn
Myles-though not sure anymore as dd leaked the name and everyone keeps calling baby by this name now which is irritating as he's not here yet!
Francis-i like but dp thinks given baby will have a very irish surname is too irish sounding, which sounds stupid given his suggestion below...
Shamus- as either middle name or fist name. we want 'james' in there after my brother but thought shamus would be nice instead as dp is half irish so a bit of both! also my sister has just used it for her baby!
any other suggestions or combinations welcome!
so yay or nay??

I like Elias/Eli, and Francis, though I don't really like Francis as much as Frank or Frankie.

I dislike the others, especially Miles.

BTW, they are quite an eclectic bunch of names !

I really like Elias, especially with Eli as nn

Myles is quite nice too.

Elias is my favourite of the bunch Elwood is dp!
as i am hoping to get my own way as it is me who is squeezing this big boy out which is better...
Elias James
Elias Seamus/Shamus (or whatever other variation on spelling there is!)
suwoo i'd pronounce it EEE-LIE-US

Elwood is brilliant.

Don't really like the rest. Shamus really doesn't appeal but then I am not at all keen on 'alternative' spellings.

What about Elijah?

Elias James is better than Elias Seamus/Shamus. I think James is a lovely middle name and goes with most first names.

I would pronounce Shamus - sha-moo. I would think it was French if I saw it written down. If you are attending Seamus I'm not sure it's a great plan.
It can mean James or Jacob. Those 2 names have the same Latin root which is why the supporters of King James were the Jacobite.

Other than that I think you have good taste.
Elwood, Myles, Elias are all good.
I think Francis is a bit too girly for my ear.

at Sha-moo. this is what springs to mind when I hear Sham-oo.
