what do you think?

Its Ezekiel in the long form i guess but i would be tempted to just go Zeke {like Jake not Jacob}

I think if you like it you should absolutely go for it.
It's original and I think it's fine (although I wouldn't use it myself).

I also think that sometimes there's nothing wrong with the old-fashioned 'keeping a name to yourself'.

If you had a beautiful baby and said, 'here's Zeke'. No one would say bleurgh at that point but some might now (hopefully no one).

chimchar · 26/06/2009 07:40

one of the main basketball players in high school musical is called zeke.....

i like it, but "zeke the geek" springs to mind as the immediate name calling potential!

Thunderduck · 26/06/2009 08:09

No comes to mind. And yes Zeek the geek is a likely unfortunate nickname.

thelollipoplady · 26/06/2009 10:00

Like it too. But hadn't thought of unfortunate nickname potential. How about isaac (nn zac)?

Firawla · 26/06/2009 11:49

i think its nice, not too common yet not weird

Fimbo · 26/06/2009 11:52

There is a Zeke in Neighbours.

jellybeans · 26/06/2009 12:02

I think it's OK. I like Zeph too. Prefer their short forms or Zephyr.

bluebump · 26/06/2009 12:04

It reminds me of Neighbours too but it's an ok name.

Annabelsmummie · 26/06/2009 12:46

It looks nice, but I wouldn't be sure how to pronounce it - Zeekee or Zekk-e?

Scorpette · 26/06/2009 18:01

I'm with Fimbo - people will be all 'Oh, like Zeke off Neighbours?'.

boodleboot · 26/06/2009 21:43

i don't watch neighbours so didn't know there was a Zeke on there...Zeke the geek....ha that is really funny. wonder why it didn't register....

Just makes me think Zeke the Friek. Sorry.

Frasersmum123 · 27/06/2009 21:37

IMO it sounds made up - sorry

Chaotica · 27/06/2009 21:40

I knew a Zeke in the US. I like it (and let's face it, most names have dodgy nicknames to go with them).

nooka · 28/06/2009 01:05

Ezekiel is pretty fab, although perhaps a little too biblical (we were thinking of Ezra though, so I can't really talk!). Zeke as a name on it's own does sound made up to me.

thell · 28/06/2009 01:10

I like it. And I like Zeke in Neighbours too!- in a non-pervy way...he's the kind of teenage boy I can imagine myself being mother to (although forced myself to give up the Neighbours addiction the beginning of this year )

FAQinglovely · 28/06/2009 01:12

Zeke (as well as simply being a shortened versio of Ezekiel) can be associated with any of the following

FAQinglovely · 28/06/2009 01:13

and I have to say that Zeke the punk band have appeared on some rather compliations - just look at here (WARNING - so rather titles)

LetThemEatCake · 28/06/2009 08:07

I'm Australian and grew up with quite a few Zekes (pre-neighbours, even) They were always cool and sought-after. Certainly not geeks.

still quite a popular name over there. I like Z names. Have only just abandoned Zephaniah as possibility for current bump.

CravingOlives · 30/06/2009 10:24

There's also a Zeke in High School Musical, which would amuse any tweenagers you know. I don't mind it though.

Disenchanted3 · 30/06/2009 10:26

My snake was called Ezekiel and we called him Zeke for short.

So to me its a snakes name, but I imagine I am in the minority
