Kara for a girl and Daniel for a boy...

Like them both...
I have a Kara (yes spelt with a K) Cara with a C makes me think Clara or Carla with the Ls missing!!
Brother is called Daniel, its a safe comfortable name thats not very exciting but at leaast you can change it abit (dan, daniel, danny...) unlike some names that you cant shorten or change.
If you prefer Kara with a K then go for it with a K, dont let people change your mind its only there personal opinions

Kara is my daugters name and she love it her middle name is lily-maie i think they go perfectly together

I prefer Cara myself- knew one at school who was lovely. Means Face in Spanish, so implies beauty. No such letter as K in Spanish though. Looks softer with a C, imo.

I know a child who's first name is Dann

LilyBolero - I take it you have a Daniel? I'm afraid you can't afford to be precious about a name on the Baby Names thread as one name is never going to appeal to all and people will happily give their opinion without meaning to offend

if I was to be offended by the fact that DD1 apparently has a name thats too common, DD2's is chavvy and DD3 has a boys name then I wouldn't come back here

if you're that offended may I suggest you hide the babynames threads or at least don't look at those mentioning those of you DC?

I'm not really offended, and I don't want to hide baby names threads, as am currently trying to think of a name for a baby!!!

Just think it is sad that people think it's ok to describe a name as "the dullest most bllleeeeughhh name in the world".

I yhink Cara is Dear in Italian, yes. I didn't know it meant Friend in Irish though. All lovely.

I like Daniel and love Cara - if you go for Kara she will spend her whole life saying "Kara with a K" pretty annoying I would have thought.

I love Daniel, Danny and Dan -- all great imo. I like OT names in general. I would go with the C spelling for the girl's name, as I'm Irish, and also because of the Italian meaning. Cara in Irish is pronounced something more like Corra. I knew a Carina in school, and know a Corinne now.

Kara is a good name. That is what i called my daughter. Prefered it with a K. And we picked it from Battlestar Galactica as it was "Starbucks" name and we loved the character.

Kara is lovely.. I know so many Daniels/Dans its rediculous so no I reckon the boys name should have a similar uniqueness

I like Kara. Lovely and feminine.

Daniel is a little dull/common - I wouldn't choose it.
