MamaLazarou · 22/06/2009 09:21

They are both brilliant names!

stripeypineapple · 22/06/2009 09:30

Reuben. Lovely.

KEAWYED · 22/06/2009 19:21

I've called my 6 week old Reuben.
Def the way to go.

WowOoo · 22/06/2009 19:23
  1. Reuben
  2. Isaac
shortshafe · 23/06/2009 22:13

DS is Isaac, my grandad (aged 84) thinks it's very old fashioned and refuses to use it - he calls him Ike instead.
I HATE Ike but can't tell my wonderful doting grandad that!

I love Reuben aswell, round here Reuben is used more often than Isaac.

boogiewoogie · 23/06/2009 22:24

Both nice names. Be aware that Isaac can be shortened to Zack.

We also had Reuben down as a possibility before ds was born.

We gave ds a biblical name, some thought it was an unusual name and kept confusing his with quite a few OT names. When ds was born, a friend's mother addressed him as Isaac in his card!

Isaac is nicer. I didn't realise Zac was a nn though I thought Isaac is prounounced eye-zuk not eye zak? Not sure. Nice though.

Bonneville · 26/06/2009 17:23

Both names nice but not shortened to Zac.

craftynclothy · 26/06/2009 17:32

I love Reuben. We had it down as a middle name for a boy (cos it doesn't go with surname v well) but we're having another girl.

spiderlight · 26/06/2009 20:08

Love them both, had them both on my list, but Isaac probably just about has the edge.

bebesequin · 26/06/2009 21:03

Both delightful but probaly like Isaac slightly more -

bluesatinsash · 27/06/2009 12:05

My DS (3) is Isaac and I've yet to come across another one up here in central Scotland. It's never been shortened either but does get misspelt alot (Issac) - grr!

It passes the shouting out in the supermarket test too and has a lovely meaning.

Reuben is lovely too tho'!

these are the names I chose for my boys...love them!
What did you decide on?

SillyTillyBilly · 11/06/2010 23:51

Love both but Isaac more!

babybumpplease · 12/06/2010 00:10

Reuben, definitely my OH's nephew is a Reuben and he is gorgeous! xx

Magalyxyz · 12/06/2010 11:44

Reuben. No contest.

Isaac is ok, it was on my list, but I've gone off it a bit and I haven't gone off Reuben, I still like that one.

Saul is lovely Sweetfall
