Obviously diverting a bit, but can anyone think of boy's flower names, apart from Basil?

Rowan for a boy or girl
Douglas as in Douglas fir tree

Heath for a boy
Heather for a girl

Timothy is a plant.

a tree really but I know a Laurel, which I think is lovely

and if it's a winter baby (girl, obviously): Snowdrop.

boys are a bit tricky : Sage (noooo). Basil. Viburnum. Sounds masculine anyway but bonkers. Laburnum. even more bonkers. Ash? Oak? Why bother?

I know a boy called Acer.

Acer is rather a nice, if "unusual" name

Asa is a boy's name, pronounced the same as Acer...
...and of course, Rowan.

Jacinda is the Spanish version of Hyacinth.

Linden is nice for a boy.

My mum's family were all called after flowers (Ivy, Lily, Violet) and the boy was William, after Sweet William. Which is nice.

I work with an Aster (like the lovely daisies) and an Alys (short for Alyssum) both of which I love now and also know a Nigella as well as a Poppy, Lily, Iris (three sisters in fact), Daisy, Marguerite, Rowan and a Posy.
