We have finally decided on Josiah but really want to decide a NN otherwise everyone will call him Joe which we can't do for family reasons.

Please vote for the one you prefer and say why.
The options are Jay, Josh or Joss (Jos).

We are not going for Jed or Jeb as it is a bit too 'Westwing'.

Many thanks

Josiah is a lovely name!!!

I know a guy called Joss, the name suits him well.

However, as a short version of Josiah, I like Jay.

Hmm, I like Joss, but nn tend to come naturally ime, which explains why dd 'Hannah' has the nn 'pindle'.

Joss was top of our list for a boy, but we are having a girl so won't be using it afterall!! I love it, cute whilst a toddler, cool when an adult-perfect!

Quite like Si as a nn for Josiah.
If you really want a 'J' name Joss is my favourite.

Joss

janeite · 03/06/2009 20:55

I think Jay is the best of those. Don't like Joss.

Josiah is lovely as it is - doesn't really need shortening imo. Most nicknames evolve naturally once they're in school.. I wouldn't worry about it now.

i really, really love Josiah atm.
and would def shorten to Joss (which i love as a name on its own too)
