or should we just go with Angus Bailey for a boy or Isla Macy for a girl? (1st time I've even thought of that & I don't even know if they go )

We've taken approx 4m to agree on a def Angus for a boy or Isla for a girl but Bailey & Macy are both also on the cards now

Why is baby naming so bloomin hard Seems to get harder with each baby Baby No3 will def be last one!

Thanks in advance

I like Angus and Isla but really don't like Bailey or Macy ...

You obviously do though and I think they go fine as middle names

massivebump · 26/05/2009 16:17

They are totally different aren't they tillyscoutsmum? I must admit I'm not smitten with Bailey but would be happy with it as a middle name. Would use my Dad's name as a middle name but we did that with first son so can't really do it again

What about Marguerite (Mum's name) as a middle name for Isla? Maybe a bit of a mouthfull?

Thanks

Isla Marguerite is so lovely.

MichelleObama · 26/05/2009 16:36

Isla Marguerite is very pretty.
What about your FIL's name as a middle name with Angus, if you have already used your Dad's?

massivebump · 26/05/2009 16:39

Thanks re Isla Marguerite, I'd not thought of it until today, I really like it (which means that dh prob wont )

Re FIL's name as middle name, I'm not sure it goes with Angus or if I like it (which means dh would )

Thanks again

Isla Marguerite is pretty

Any other family names you can use with Angus ? We had Angus Rennie on our list and I like Angus Fraser as well

daizydoo · 26/05/2009 16:48

Tis pretty, but its very similar to the name of an island I visited in Mozambique!! It's a gorgeous island

massivebump · 26/05/2009 17:15

I've just gone over other family names with dh & we can't find any that go with Angus. He doesn't think Marguerite goes with Isla either (told you he wouldn't )

Never mind, we'll get there.

DH and I never found a boys name we could agree on at all.
Luckily, we had three girls.

TreeTrunkThighs · 26/05/2009 17:27

We were torn between Isla and Macy!

We have Macy Ann. Ann is not a family name or anything, DH just decided it was perfectly plain next to a slightly quirky Macy. I love it!

sockmonster · 26/05/2009 17:45

Isla Marguerite goes very well, it is really pretty. Bailey is more a girl's name than a boy's, yes? and also an alcoholic beverage- avoid!

sockmonster · 26/05/2009 17:47

Hmm just realised it's like Isla Margarita, off the coast of Venezuela- not that that matters, I like.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 26/05/2009 17:51

I actually think Angus Bailey and Isla Macy sound fab, and if those are the names you like, why not use them?
especially if this is your last.

do it.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 26/05/2009 23:05

i've had a little think, and i still think angus bailey and isla macy go really well together.
good names.

MrsKitty · 26/05/2009 23:16

Angus Bailey goes well together IMO, not sure about Isla Macy though (although like both names on their own)

TALLULAHBELLE · 27/05/2009 11:29

I have an Isla Catriona. Think Marguerite goes well & it has meaning if it's your mum's name. Isla & Angus are lovely traditional Scottish names & Macy & Bailey bit modern/ trendy so don't really 'match' when put together iyswim.

Isla Bella?
