Was reading Red magazine the other day and there were two mentions of women named Clover. I hadn't really thought of it before but the more I think about it the more I like it.

Anyone with me?

Lovely - my first thought would be What Katie Did.

shootfromthehip · 28/05/2009 21:03

I think it's very lovely. A sweet and serene name.

I think it's very pretty.

KERALA1 · 28/05/2009 21:11

I really like it - again the what Katy Did connection.

Surely there should be some rule against margarine companies ruining lovely old names?

It's a cow's name.

But then again, so is Daisy

I thought of What Katy Did too. Wasn't CLover the sister who used a slate pencil to deepen her dimples?!

I like the name!

I knew a Clover as a child and no one batted an eye lid or made cow noises as far as I remember. Go for it. People's associations (cow, pet name, country bumpkin or whatever) are always strongest for the most unusual names as they don't know anyone personally with that name. Once there are a few little Clovers out there, I wouldn't be surprised if a whole field of little Clovers followed... I reckon it will be popular one day.

Yep, go, go and make hay!

cookie100 · 11/06/2009 20:58

I'm agreeing with the people who said it reminds them of cows and butter...

persephonesnape · 11/06/2009 21:23

i absolutely LOVE it - but i generally like plant names. I knew a little girl once called Bramble. that rocks so hard that Green day should write a song about her.

ja9 · 11/06/2009 21:29

err butter.

sorry, but please no!

morningpaper · 11/06/2009 21:30

Clover Stroud (journo), sister of Nell Gifford (Gifford's Circus) and Emma Bridgewater (i think!)
