I have a Polly. We haven't had any adverse reactions/comments/dodgy nicknames/parrot references at all - she's in Reception now.

I loved the name when I gave it to her, and it just keeps on growing on me - really suits her. I say go for it .

Polly is a fantastic name. Do you have any ideas for middle names? Anything family-related or special to you?

nooka · 23/05/2009 06:30

Nice name, we had a family friend called Polly and she didn't appear to suffer from it (very cheerful she was).

sophieandbelly · 23/05/2009 06:38

i like it vvery cute altho i prefere poppy

avenginggerbil · 23/05/2009 13:58

Like Polly (trad a nickname for Mary, btw - can't see why!)

MsMaggieBeauregarde · 23/05/2009 15:23

love it. I wouldn't go for Molly though, and Holly is Ok, but Polly is fabulous. Pretty but strong too. Maybe, maybe I'd put Penelope on bc and use Polly for short.

DH would like to use the middle name Lillian but think its to many L sounds....Polly Jean is nice.....or Polly Marie....

Got to go for Polly Jean - I say this as a huge PJ (Polly Jean) Harvey fan. She is a total goddess.

I would love to use it but it doesn't go with my surname (and DH would veto it for reasons of me being a sad fangirl)

lynniep · 24/05/2009 16:49

very pretty. if surname werent Potts I'd go for it!

boodleboot · 24/05/2009 17:43

oh...i never knew that was PJ Harveys name.....i don't think it puts me off entirely but it doesnt really thrill me either....sorry angelene....

That's OK, I do realise she's definitely something of an acquired taste!

Still a great name though
