Thunderduck · 19/05/2009 20:40

I don't like it at all and it doesn't pass the Judge/prime minister test imho. Perhaps as a nickname though.

SoupDragon · 19/05/2009 20:42

Sulky.

LOVE this - would have been DDs name had I thought it at the time !

skihorse · 19/05/2009 21:02

I once knew a Shitzu named Suki, horrible thing.

josette · 19/05/2009 21:09

Wasn't Sukey the name of the pretty fairy in the Far Away Tree Books? I think it is very pretty and would have had it on my list for a dd but dh vetoed it very early on.

blametheparents · 19/05/2009 21:10

It reminds me of a name of a cat or a dog.
I don;t really like it, sorry xx

boodleboot · 19/05/2009 21:34

silkie was the name of the pretty fairy....and i have tried to convice DH that it is a suitable name for a little girl but he wont have it....

Suki is lovely IMO

Wilkiepedia · 19/05/2009 21:36

Yuk. Cat's name. Sorry.

jkklpu · 19/05/2009 21:36

sorry, agree with BTP that it sounds like a cat's name
and a "sook" in Scotland is someone who sucks up to teachers/grown-ups to try to get one over other children

drowninginclutter · 19/05/2009 21:38

I like it, I know a Suki who is really lovely.

BunnyLebowski · 19/05/2009 21:40

Makes me think of Sookie St James and also "Suki walk to the well". But then I'm weird

I actually like it! But not the Sukey (looks too much like Sucky?). I prefer the Suki or Sookie spelling.

TheMysticMasseuse · 19/05/2009 21:42

there is a lovely sookie in gilmore girls, my favourite tv show ever. so, yes, love it.

TheMysticMasseuse · 19/05/2009 21:42

Lebowski yes, it was Sookie St James...

seeker · 19/05/2009 21:45

So long as it's a nickname for Susannah, lovely.

Paolosgirl · 19/05/2009 21:47

No - it's one of those nicknames given to gels who go to the better private schools, along with Tash, Fee, Ceecee and so on.

Unless of course you're planning to send her to one of the better private schools, in which case it will do fine (and will save her friends having to come up with the nickname themselves )
