Could you still use Gabrielle if you had three HSM fans in the house already

it's the only name I really love, there are lots of Ok options but I don't love Gabby so would have to police that but DH loves Nicole and I couldn't stand Nicky and that's enough to veto it.

can't see why not, its just a name and it not like she's a bad role model. She deosn't have to be gabby at all, Gabrielle on HSM doesn't shorten her name.

Can't you find one you both like, that has a nn you could stand?

What sort of names do you both like?

Hulababy · 19/05/2009 19:44

I don't think there is really any problem with using the name and the HSM link.

I'd have to think though before using a name where I didn't like one of the most common nn. Simply that at school it is likely to get shorted, esp when they are a teenager. So, unless you think of another pet form - think before deciding.

We like Amelie but I'm worried it's common now, the new Emily, Sofia and Georgia.
I'd be ok with Georgie as a nickname but am concerned Sofia would become Sofa from her big sisters.

You could spell it Sophia, I've never heard of one being called Sofa

and whatever you call her her siblings will take the piss, it's Nature innit

Amelie is lovely and not too popular IMO, not as popular as Amelia

I think Gbarielle / Gabriella would be fine with HSM sisters in the house.
Sharpay, however, would not be a good choice!

KathyBrown · 19/05/2009 21:51

I have a Sharpay look a like so no you're right

I have a DD who acts like Sharpay half the time!
