I have my first scan tomorrow and I am so so nervous so I am taking my mind of it by choosing names.

We're not finding out with this baby as we have one of each so thought this would be a nice suprise.

Any suggestions?

I met a little Betty the other day, very sweet I thought.

FrankMustard · 18/05/2009 00:13

do you really want 3 names all ending in the same sound?
I'd avoid "-ie" or "-y" for the third I think.

liahgen · 18/05/2009 00:14

all our 3 girls end in IE and Y. Boys are English kings

Claire2009 · 18/05/2009 00:16

Isabel? Isabella?

liahgen · 18/05/2009 00:16

Claire2009 · 18/05/2009 00:21

I can't believe how much I love Ted!! I have never even considered it until piecenharmoknee suggested it!!!

Is it very popular?

I know a couple of little Teds, but certainly where I live there aren't any more than the 2 I know. It's a lovely name!

nappyaddict · 18/05/2009 13:22

liaghen did you plan that or was it just coincidence your 3 favourite names end with the same sound?

Tulia · 18/05/2009 14:02

for a boy how about George?

for a girl:

Megan
Louise
Grace

liahgen · 18/05/2009 15:57

nappy. TBH, once we'd got the 1st 2 with an Y ending, dh suggested we choose something that ended in same sound. Bless him. We ttc now so god knows what we'll call new baby, gets harder the more children you have.

I am just about to go for my second scan next week and have also been thinking names - I like the idea of using names from people who I have loved and past on - i.e. my gran etc however they all become quite old fashioned names - my gran was called Edna and my Grandad Eric, but then my dads middle name is William - soooo confusing!!! Do you think Edna would be ok as a middle name???

This is my first little bundle and I am 19 weeks today so any advice on anything is extremely welcome!!! :D

thell · 15/06/2009 11:05

Lauren & Ted !

Very good choices, Zebraa

Pinkcaz - in my family it's the middle names that have been linked to family, so we continued with that - we chose a first name based on what we really liked, and a middle name linked to family. I think that works especially well if the family name you pick is one you're not 100% sure of as a first name - does that make any sense at all??

MaggieBee · 15/06/2009 11:09

Phoebe, Daisy or Zoe for a girl. For a boy Richie or Teddy or Zachary for a boy.

It ties in with the ie but isn't quite so ee ee ee

There is a programme called Ben and Holly's kingdom. I'd avoid Ben.
