Rudyard a.ka. Rudy

I don't know which gender I'm having yet as only 15 weeks

how do you get Gus as a nickname for Atticus? (it's At-ti-kus, not -gus!)

I like Rudy. Atticus is quite nice, but don't like the shortening of Gus.

Yes, I know it's Atticus (I can read) but Gus is pretty similar in ending and erm, even if it's not, that would be the shortening we'd choose.

Like Atticus better but Gus as shortening is not good. If I met an Atticus shortened to Gus I'd be muttering all the way home in a confused manner

If name will def be shortened to those options then go for Rudy

My DS is called Rudy - that's his full name, not shortened. He always gets compliments. It's a FAB name.

Can't help but think of 3rd & Bird (CBeebies)and start whistling when I hear the name Rudy these days...Although that's more than likely because my DS is currently obsessed by it!

I like Gus but with Augustus as the 'proper' name or just using Gus as the proper name.

I like them both a lot, though wouldn't have been brave enough to use either as a first name. Adore Atticus and have been sorely tempted to have another baby in the hope of being able to use it as a second name.

I like Atticus - and don't see any problem with shortening to Gus if that's the shortening you like
