Here's my thinking:

Mathilde
Maude
Betsie
Mabel

EXDp's thinking:

Kitty

All nice. What about Martha or Edith?

hobbgoblin · 03/05/2009 16:20

Oh, yes to both belgo. Thank you.

Also forgot to add Sienna.

Am adding Hebe to own thread.

how do you pronounce Hebe?

LadyPinkofPinkerton · 03/05/2009 16:43

Love Mathilde and Hebe

sockmonster · 03/05/2009 16:45

Mathilde is really really nice.
Maude couldn't be worse. And please, don't call your daughter Kitty unless you want her to be a stripper (Kitty is a cute nn for a slightly more formal name though)

lalalonglegs · 03/05/2009 16:49

Can't stand Maude or Mabel. Betsy is very sweet. I like Matilda.

sleepyhead3 · 03/05/2009 17:15

I like them all actually!

Maude is short for Mathilde so you could kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I have a Mathilda.

I like all your names actually. Lovely.

ShowOfHandsNoLongerKissesKunes · 03/05/2009 17:20

Oh I know the loveliest Kitty. She's an academic librarian who grows vegetables and likes to read. I can't be 100% sure, but I don't think she's into stripping.

sockmonster · 03/05/2009 17:23

I stand corrected on the stripper name front, apologies. I totally forgot that it's an established name and quite a proper one at that. And it's really cute.... Sorry to all the Kittys of the world

OK I vote 'Kitty Mathilde'!

janeite · 03/05/2009 17:26

Mathilde is lovely. I also like all of your other choices.

Less fond of Kitty but okay as a middle name.

janeite · 03/05/2009 17:27

I wonder if the Kitty conotations come from Lucy Locket and Kitty Fisher? Must say I've never felt that Kitty sounded stripper-ish. No strippers in Jane Austen novels but there is a Kitty!

sockmonster · 03/05/2009 17:34

Hmm I think for me it was tainted by Jonathan Ross using it for one of his daughters... not that they are strippers or anything.. or was that Betty?! Agh pregnancy addled brain, I am typing utter tosh

Mathilde, definately

Don't go for Hebe makes me think of the old lady's pug dogs down the road called Hebe and Herb

stroppyknickers · 03/05/2009 20:16

Love Betsy - not Betsie. xxx doesn't 'ie' usually indicate a twee plural? you know, walk, walkies; dog, doggies

LaDiDaDi · 03/05/2009 21:07

I love Mabel, Mathilde, Betsy and Kitty.

Actually all of your choices are good but not sure on Hebe, makes me think of heebiejeebies.

ShinyPinkShoes · 04/05/2009 14:19

I like Maude and Mathilde

I could also see you with an Evie/Martha/Mathilde/ or Celeste

MrsMattie · 04/05/2009 20:48

Betsy/Betsey or Kitty.

Bet is my DD's nickname. Love it

SoupDragon · 04/05/2009 20:51

I don't like Mathilde, Maude, Betsie, Mabel or Hebe.
