our son's name is irish and quite unique at that, however we were separated when he was born and i registered him alone so OH didnt realy get a choice. he agrees now that he loves ds' name but seems really against an irish name for this baby. im finding it really hard to think of a name that we both love. im due in 3 weeks. ive asked OH to have a really hard think about names he likes, so far he hasnt thought of any but still rejects my choices. im just worried that baby will get to 6 weeks and we'll panic and pick something that we dont really love. we live in ireland btw.

ahhh booyhoo I am in the same situation. dp won't agree to any name I suggesdt but can't come up with any he likes.

so, i've made a list, and he is just going to have to decide on one he likes the most from it

I think you need to go with something that's at least in keeping with your ds' name. Dh taught twins, one named by the father one by the mother resulting in Riciardo and Paul.

see heated thats what ive been trying to say to OH but he says it doesnt matter if its not irish. but the fact that our ds name is soo unique aswell means it cant just be called bill or jane. not that theres anything wrong with bill or jane, just that it would be such a contrast. thisisyesterday i might just do that with OH if he cant come up with something soon.

Erm... do you want to say what ds1's name is and see if we can help find you and dh a name you both love? You don't have to of course.

booyhoo · 01/05/2009 22:24

his name's Bréagh pronounced bray. we dont know anyone else with this name. the names i have chosen are for a boy because i cant think of girls names.

Ooh, love Rowan/Rúadhan and its spelling. Lovely choice.

Since he's clueless and he loves ds1' name now, tell him to trust you on this. And as you so trust him, he can choose the mn. He'll have to agree!

No girl's names inspiration yet?
