Opinions on Theo, please!

What are your opinions on Theo as a name?

If you have a Theo, what have you put on the birth certificate- Theo or Theodore? My brother is Alex and this is what is on his birth certificate, not Alexander, he has never wished for a longer name. So, I am tempted to stick with just Theo.

We already have a Sophie so I am right in thinking Sophie and Theo sound quite good together?

Many thanks.

I have a Theo. He is just a Theo as I can't stand Theodore. DH wanted Theoren, but we just stuck with Theo.

I also have an Issy, but that is short for Isabelle, for some reason I wanted to her to have the longer name although we don't use it a great deal.

Theo goes really nicely with Sophie.

I don't know any other Theo's but ocassionally someone says "Oh I know another Theo" which I always find amusing, because if they had a more popular name like Jack, I wouldn't say "Oh I know a Jack". I wasn't trying to be original, I just liked the name.

The only bad comment I had about the name was from my out and out racist old-fashioned hairdresser (now understandably ex-hairdresser!) who said "Why did you call him that?? Theo is a black boys name".
