I love coming onto the baby names threads, don't know why I've just always had a thing about names and their meaning etc

and I'm more than able to cope with people not liking the names I've chosen for my dds but why on earth do we have to resort to calling names CHAVVY? We'd moved away from it for a while but looks like we're right back there

surely that should be saved for the websites that use terms like hun and soz [snob emoticon]

each to their own or a sensible alternative or a polite not to my taste?

"surely that should be saved for the websites that use terms like hun and soz"

The name Hun/Honey is mentioned lots on this board from what I've seen, as a real name for a little girl too.

To be honest I'm guilty of using the word in my thread. I couldn't think of an alternative as Lower class, common, or down market sound much worse.

I'm forever being told my DS's name is too 'chav' not on here but in RL.

It just pisses me off because it's such a common name and is not one of the weird sleb copycat names which IMO is the chavvy thing to do, I was a teen mum but a lot of teens seem to think that they have to have the latest sleb name regardless of how odd it may be.

At teh end of the day though it's up to that indivual if they like it that's all rhat matters.

So basically YANBU
