I'm sorry, I am, but now that I've ditched Blanchard I am being drawn to the name Dragon

you're all going to give up on me as a lost cause aren't you?

are you serious?

MrsMattie · 18/04/2009 14:06

Yes. There is no way to advise somebody who thinks Dragon is a good name for a person.

paolosgirl · 18/04/2009 14:06

Please tell me you are not being serious!

Tinker · 18/04/2009 14:06

Use it only if you change your real surname to Hobbgoblin

You can tell I need help, yes? Good!

I have been appreciative of some very good suggestions over the course of several threads but I cannot be converted to conventional wisdom.

I just need my madness tempering a little.

So...Rafferty, what?

I may need to pick a surname too.

Three first names a likelihood, so the zany one can go at the end.

You see, I like that Moon Unit name. This is where I am coming from. But I am not quite gone enough or selfish enough to do that degree of silliness to this baby.

I really like it and considered it for my first dc. So there.

Then I reconsidered and thought about it as a 2nd name - Finn Dragon

but then, my children are called Phoenix (girl) and Cassian (boy)

And now that I am pregnant again I am liking Aslan, Samson, Griffin, and Zeph for boys.

so I will join the club of lost causes with you. Proudly.

MayorNaze · 18/04/2009 15:41

i like blanchard and dragon

so i am no help here if you want a voice of reason...

Marne · 18/04/2009 15:48

Not sure about Dragon (reminds me of what we used to call out teacher 'old dragon')

Maybe use it as a second name?

How about Merlin?

I'm liking the names, Samson and Zeph

LetThemEatCake · 18/04/2009 16:55

oooh I've got merlin on my list too.

I also like Orpheus.

Use Blaize with Dragon as a nn

everGreensleeves · 18/04/2009 18:04

how about Draco instead?

MANATEEequineOHARA · 18/04/2009 18:10

I kind of like Dragon actually! BUT you have to think about how they may feel about the name. And their future...job interviews, people always asking if it is for real, that kind of thing...

A very cool second name though.

SoupDragon · 18/04/2009 18:11

Oh FGS! Even I wouldn't use Dragon and I am one

As for Aslan, LetThemEatCake, that is simply cruel.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 18/04/2009 18:12

Bear is a cool name

SoupDragon · 18/04/2009 18:18

No it isn't. It's a good nickname but a crap name.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 18/04/2009 18:21

fair enough

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 18/04/2009 18:24

This is the worst set of names I've ever seen on mumsnet. You have either all been drinking or are very hormonal

Aslan? ASLAN?? ASLAN???

superseded only by the wrongness of calling your kid Dragon or Merlin.

No more hallucenegic drugs for you lot

ShowOfHands · 20/04/2009 21:06

I know a Merlin, siblings are Phinnibus, Elfin and Fred!

Dragon's brilliant.

Like Indigo too.

georgimama · 20/04/2009 21:08

What about Wolf? Could be Wolfgang as a "real" name. Do it, go on, you know you want to.

(You can't be due yet, can you? It can't be nine months already?)

flightoftheeasterbunyip · 20/04/2009 21:08

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

georgimama · 20/04/2009 21:10

Aslan and Merlin have just made me snort wine up my nose. Help, I can't breathe.
