What are thoughts on Cara?

We're thinking of the name Cara but I'm a bit paranoid about choosing a name from the wrong era. Do people think it's a 1970's name? Or it's never been common enough so it doesn't really have an era.

At the moment it's the only name we can both sort of agree on so thoughts much appreciated.

Very, very nice with a K or a C.

I like girls names that can't be messed with, don't sound gimmicky or made up and are a little unusual. Also - v important - sound lovely for a woman and not just a little girl.

and cara dillon has the most beuatiful voice ever.
I know it is folk, but she s very lovely too.
