Struggling with girl name

littlelozz · 14/04/2009 11:55

Hey ladies - DD2 due in 5 weeks and I cant seem to find a name I completely love.
DD1 is Emily Evie (wish I had kept Evie as love it) and names so far are Ava Olivia or Olivia Ava. Surname is Ross and just waiting for a name to pop out at me but apart from Ava (which is becoming popular here) cant think!

Would like something to go with Emily and quite quirky but not too ouot there - Im probably asking for too much lol

If anyone has an Emily what did you call your other dd?

I know an Emily with sister called Olivia!
Also an Emily and an Anna.
Ava is nice but quite 'now' IYSWIM.

littlelozz · 14/04/2009 12:08

yeah already heard 3 babies called Ava since we thought of it and one guy in work called his little girl Ava. Thought we were being quite different lol

I also know of about 3 Ava's and a similar number of Eve/Evie's. Pretty names but definitely popular. Depends if you are worried about that though?
Other names I like (but having a boy this time) are:
Annabel
Scarlett
Christy
Isabella
Martha
Good luck x

littlelozz · 14/04/2009 12:20

I quite like Scarlett but hubby doesnt.

Isabella is quite pretty too but would prefer Olivia I think. argh too confusing!

Good luck too with your DS x

My niece is an Emily and her little sister is Alice.

sleeplessinstretford · 14/04/2009 13:35

i know twins called polly and emily and emily and alice is nice-i also like emily and kate and emily and clara (my DD's names) they sort of go don't they?

sleepsforwimps · 14/04/2009 13:49

Just thought of another pair of sisters I know, Emily and Charlotte (known as Lottie). Emily and Lottie I think goes really well.

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 14/04/2009 13:55

i like amber to go with emily, maybe when you see LO it will come to you?? x

oliviasmama · 14/04/2009 14:57

Olivia . . . . ofcourse

oliviasmama · 14/04/2009 14:58

Edie?

higgle · 14/04/2009 15:17

Don't worry too much -when you see her it will be much easier to work out which name will suit - my experience was that it was hardly worth thinking about names before the birth because each of my sons looked as if he ought to be called something else once he was born.

littlelozz · 14/04/2009 18:22

thanks for all the suggestions - I like Charlotte and Alice - Kate too although she would be Kate Ross which I cant stop thinking of Kate Moss lol

I think maybe Olivia is winning at the moment lol

I think the 'y' sound at the end sounds better with your surname than 'ia'. How about Enid that goes nicely with Ross or Chloe?

jellybeans · 14/04/2009 21:20

Isabelle? Also like Ava (but very 'of the moment') and Sophie.

Hulababy · 14/04/2009 21:23

DD's friend is called Emily. Her sisters are Sophie and Lucy.

nappyaddict · 15/04/2009 14:45

I always post this collection of names on these sorts of threads and have helped a few people find something they love. Hope it helps you think of something

Thats a good idea Lockets, then you can just link to it NA and it would only take one line instead of one hundred

littlelozz · 15/04/2009 22:48

ok.....thanks for all the names Nappy - although great - bit too many to choose from

Thanks for all the names that go with Emily. Still loving olivia although hubby likes Lucy now and Chloe (altho close friends daughter had a baby called her emily and their son's wife just had a baby and called Chloe so might not go with that lol)

Thanks again x x x
