Anyone know a Coco?

My friend's sister is due her DD four weeks before me.
We were discussing names (my friend and i) when he said his sister has chosen her name. Coco.
I actually said 'shut up ' because i really thought he was joking, he is always joking. But later his oh was talking about the name too.
Is this an up and coming name that i've missed? I really don't think i have ever heard of another Coco before.

know one short for Cordelia

cupofteaplease · 05/04/2009 19:11

I'm really considering it for the baby I am carrying (if it's a girl, obviously!)

But I would probably name her Constance to give her that option as an adult.

cupofteaplease · 05/04/2009 19:18

Mutt- clearly it's not just a dog's name as all the people on this thread have illustrated!

oldraver · 06/04/2009 01:22

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 06/04/2009 01:26

I know a guy that goes by this name...he went by it in childhood and still does now...but his real name is Christian

to me it's Coco Pops...

jabberwocky · 06/04/2009 01:34

It does sound like a poodle though.

I teach a Coco she is lovely as well/.

My daughter is Isabella Coco and we call her Coco.

I enjoy telling people she's named after a drag queen friend of mine - Coco LaCroix. My husband likes to say she's named after the American breakfast cereal - Coco Crisps. My Aunt had Coco as a nickname.

We've only ever met one other child named Coco but every third child seems to be some version of Isabella. Obviously I love both names but Coco really suits her.

And with our dualing nationalities, I s'pose she IS a mutt.

You wouldn't think "weak and insubstantial" if you met my 20 month old terror!

I really had no idea that so many people were SO judgmental about baby names. To the point of ugliness in some cases.

Oh well, the OP asked!
