or Nigella

random · 25/03/2009 17:01

errr no

MadameCastafiore · 25/03/2009 17:02

There is an Ian at DDs swimming and everytime the poor little lad is called I just cringe!

Ian I ask you what decade are they living in?

Anyway Brian was a crap name in the decade it was popular in - why would you call your kid it now?

What about Trevor?

Fimbo · 25/03/2009 17:04

Tis a joke

What's the female derivative of Trevor? Would it be Tracy?

What's wrong with Brian? I say bring back all those names which children were named back in the 1930 and 1940s.

What about Mervyn and Maureen for a set of twins?

Fimbo · 25/03/2009 17:11

Merv & Mo fantastic.

Wait and see my first grandchild (if I am lucky) will be Brian in honour of its great grandfather. What goes around comes around..

Screaming, are you here again with your bloody Nigel nonsense?? I think the OP is looking for a girl's name. Stop being so silly.

I think Brian is a beautiful name, it's mellifluous and soothing. It reminds me of the lauded poet and playwright, Brian Shakespeare.

I am merely garning thoughts on my father's name for anyone else who may have it under consideration or may not of thought of Brian as yet.

MrsMerryHenry · 25/03/2009 17:21

I'm sure he his gorgeous, Fio...but his name is not!

screamingabdab · 25/03/2009 17:24

Fio. At last, someone with taste

Is your real name Amanda, by any chance?

fimbo I think Fimbo is a good name, and could be used for a boy or girl

It's not the worst name I've ever heard. BUT I wouldn't choose it myself. Mind you my own son's name is considered dated. I think it peaked in about 1935.

I heard of a Jeffrey, a friend of a friend had one yesterday. Kind of refreshing I think.

screamingabdab · 25/03/2009 17:31

The Jester

Jeffrey Dahmer. I rest my case

TheJester · 25/03/2009 17:32

oh yeah.

But, Ted Bundy!
