A rather poetic choice for a newborn, non?

I dated a Mervyn once- his name used to make me giggle- heaven knows why- I was only 17 at the time. Wouldn't choose it myself.

I once went to a work meeting. Of the 17 participants, there were more men called Mervyn (two) than women with any name (just me). Flabbergasting and it didn't endear the name to me any more than before, I'm afraid.

Naming a baby after the Bank of England Governor in the worst economic climate in living memory could be called highly ironic.
