At the pub yesterday I heard some one constantly calling "Pepsi, Pepsi, come here Pepsi"

I turned to DH and said "I didn't think you were allowed dogs in here"

"Pepsi is a little girl" he told me

Why on earth would you name your child after a soft drink?

Do you not remember Pepsi and Shirley (for those too young to remember the singers with Wham!) lol

belgo · 23/03/2009 15:32

are you absolutely sure you heard properly?

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 23/03/2009 15:33

Yup they were calling it loads. Pepsi kept running off and wouldn't eat her peas.

I remember Pepsi and Shirley but surely that was not her real name?

I can't think what it could be short for.

SobranieCocktail · 23/03/2009 15:36

Could be a nickname. DS frequently gets called Rhubarb in public and I do sometimes wonder if I'll ever see it on here on a "You'll never guess whar this boy's name was" thread.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 23/03/2009 15:38

Hmm, maybe it was a nickname, they never called her by anyother name while we there though.

I have to say that some of the baby name threads on here are far worse than Pepsi. But maybe that is just me.

Perhaps in the bid to be an individual they have chosen what others think is a crap name or perhaps it is a nickname or perhaps they like it....

No accounting for taste....

flooziesusie · 23/03/2009 15:43

perhaps there are a leigon of kids called lilt, fanta, sprite, dandelion and burdock that we just don't know about???

MargotBeauregardesGavel · 23/03/2009 16:20

could have been a nick name though?

I sometimes call out "Podge! Zookie! come on we're going now"

I wouldn't have either of those two on a birth cert though!

screamingabdab · 23/03/2009 17:08

Oh, that site is upsetting, there are 317 people with my name as a first or middle name! It's mine all mine!

savoycabbage · 24/03/2009 03:17

There is a Pepsi Collins on that site. That's even worse as it it like Pepsi Cola. And Pepsi Mary something. Pepsi and Mary do not go together....

Lawks · 24/03/2009 05:18

I have 2 dds called Roxie and Pepsi. I think they're both great names thanks.
