Isaac or Zachary? Penelope or Marianne? Help us decide!

So we've got it down to a choice of 2 for either boy or girl. Last name Reed.

Isaac James
or
Zachary James

Penelope Lucy
or
Marianne Tess

Due in 10 days. Want to be able to announce arrival with name rather than "name TBC".

What do you think?

(as an aside, I had thought we were going to go with Dashiel for a boy all the way through the pregnancy but have lost my bottle at the last minute. Anyone think I should grow a pair and go back to this more unusual name? Dash for short seems such a cool NN...)

Dashiel - agree, cool name.

Zachary - lovely, but so common.

Marianne - horrid, sorry. I like other 'Mari' names, though. Maria, Mairead, Mary even.

Oooh this is a rteally easy one! Much prefer Issac and Marianne- really lovely names- to Zachary and Penelope, which I don't like at all.

Isaac and Penelope from what you posted initially but I love Dashiell and I would go for that over Isaac.

Actually prefer Dash I think to either of your others. Have taught two Dashs, so not as uncommon as all that.

Isaac James definately but I have an Isaac James (ds2) so I am very biased its a lovely name imo!

Like all three possible boy's names.

Much prefer Marianne to Penelope. Don't like Penelope or Penny.

Also like Tess very much, though not sure it goes all that well with Marianne - I think 2 syllables maybe works better? Tessa?

Prefer Lucy as a first name.

Penelope Lucy but prefer Penny

Both Isaac and Zachary were on the list for us.

If you go for Isaac then you get the Zac for free!

Penelope over Marianne methinks but hey I think that Tess stands up on ots own!?!

Issac James and Marianne Tess although I do like Tess the most.

Mariannne Tess is lovely. Have you read Marianne Dreams?

Love Penelope - we have one - although always Penny ! Do you liek that as much because prob quite difficult not to shorten 3 syllable name - but also love Marianne - goes well with Reed, prefer Dashiel to other 2 boys names - if its good enough for cate Blanchett !

Dashiell? Do you really think? People are going for it? Will I not sound a bit pretentious? Am trying to imagine sending the text... "Dashiell Benjamin Reed born at home this morning weighing blah blah..."....

I love Marianne and Penelope. What fabulous taste you have. They are both so elegant.

Zachary is nice, but not my favourite y name. Nor my favourite bible name. Prefer Saul or Toby, Malachy or Gregory. Or if you've got money for school fees, Barnaby!

Isaac was on my list but I have completely gone off it now.

Penelope is great. Classic, chic and vintage.
Marianne is a bit wet.

I think Dashiel is nicer than Zachary or Isaac.
Those last two have gone "middle of the road".
Dashiel is more original and brighter, a classic with a twist.
That's not pretentious, that is good taste.

So Dashiell is winning? Really? Gosh I thought I had let that one go...
