I also went to school with a Taryn.

If you are looking for Welsh girls names then Seren is nice (it means 'star').

I don't like it.
It sounds made up, and the spelling makes it look made up as well.

Sorry.

A friend's sister is called Tarryn - really like it

GillN1976 · 08/03/2009 00:01

I really quite like this name. I came across it in a book a long time ago and the character was a little girl and I always liked it after that.

tigerdriver · 08/03/2009 00:04

no, don't

shubiedoo · 08/03/2009 00:54

Another variation is Terynn, I prefer that.

According to Beyond the Name Taryn was invented as a female form of Tyrone by Tyrone Power and Linda Christian for their daughter Taryn Power (1953-).

I know two girls called Taryn - one who is 19 and loves her name, and the other about 2 years old - no idea what she thinks of her name.

I think it is beautiful.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 11/03/2009 15:21

I grew up in South Africa and knew a Taryn. I love the name, and dearly wish I could use it, but it doesn't go with our surname at all.

Lionstar · 11/03/2009 15:27

Taryn is definitely a Welsh GIRLS name. I rather like it, along with Tyrion - DP can't be convinced though.

lastboxoftampons · 11/03/2009 16:34

It's the name of my 4 year old nephew's imaginary friend!

CalaLilly · 11/03/2009 16:46

Is it just me who thinks it sounds to much like "Karen" said with a lisp? (Sorry if this offends anyone!)

Fimbo · 11/03/2009 16:54

I know of a baby Torrin (boy)
