Darwin (?) or (?) Darwin?

We don't know what we are expecting however I think dh and I have finally agreed on part of our boys name but need help with what goes with it and our surname (Buxton.

I feel we are running out of time. Please help!

Yes, but you do have to consider if your want your son to go through life encountering the same reactions you get on here. Isn't tha the whole point of posting the name here -- to get these reactions and see if you want to go ahead or not?

now, awards definitely come to mind with that one. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a famous actor who contribute to the future of humanity by removing himself from the gene pool in a spectacularly entertaining fashion leaving only a legacy of his own stupidity.

OP I think you need to stick to victorian sounding names as they go well with Buxton (lovely grand surname) and Darwin.

I just posted what I thought of - which I would rather do than have OP come back and say "OMG I have just found out that my DS has the same name as the stupidity awards. Why didn't anyone tell me"

Would it really be better for me not to say and let OP name child without considering that possibilty. Really?

Actually, you know, I think you are lucky. I can't think of any names that just don't go with Buxton. Some names are really hard to pair with a first name. But you can choose just about anything.

Darwin works much much better as a middle name rather than a first name.

I think the association of Charles Darwin far outweighs the Darwin awards. Anyhow, the point of the Darwin awards is not that Darwin is/was in any way stupid; the point is that the people who have died in stupid ways illustrate Darwin's principle of survival of the fittest.

I think Darwin would be better as a middle name, though.
