better for a girl I would think.

Poppyscock · 28/02/2009 10:39

I think we have decided to use it if we have a girl, just wondered what people thought about it for a boy

Its definately a girls name imo.

MuppetsMuggle · 28/02/2009 11:01

my DD name is Darcie

Nancy66 · 28/02/2009 11:06

No, definitely not. I don't like the name for at all but it's a girl's name.

I think people are thinking of Darcy in Price and Prejudice but that was his surname.

keepingitRia · 28/02/2009 11:22

If it has to be a P&P name - Fitzwilliam

katiepotatie · 28/02/2009 11:23

Think it's better for a girl, on our shortlist for a girl.

Pinner35 · 28/02/2009 11:28

I worked with an Australian guy called D'Arcy and he was a right eejit.....so, er no. Love it for a girl though.

Poppyscock · 28/02/2009 11:39

I wont bother mentioning the idea to DH then

No not for a boy

Heated · 28/02/2009 11:43

Unisex names usually go the way of becoming exclusively girl's names, so no.

Stayingsunnygirl · 28/02/2009 12:24

Only if you want him to get duffed up behind the bikesheds at school.

RachieB · 28/02/2009 13:30

its a girls name to me

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/02/2009 13:32

No. Girls only.

Kwini · 19/03/2009 11:55

My friend had a guitar teacher called D'Arcy - he was very cute ;)

MargotBeauregarde · 19/03/2009 12:11

Don't like it much for a girl, but I would expect a DArcy to be a girl.

simpson · 19/03/2009 12:12

I love it but for a girl.

Not a boys name IMO

lastboxoftampons · 19/03/2009 12:30

It's my nephew's middle name!

EllieG · 19/03/2009 12:32

'Tis a girl's name I thought

i am certain pregnant women go insane and should not be allowed to chose baby names until 3 months after

chinateacup · 19/03/2009 21:46

Yes. I would have had it for a boy, but my DH said it was girly. Although he conceded it needed an extra "e" then ...

Boys name.

i've got a friend with a boy called Darcy so just consider it a boys name.

Maybe it's all about the spelling...

Darcy = boy
Darcie = girl
