I love this name. Thought it was reasonably unusal but have noticed it moving up the ranks of popularity recently and I AM one of those people that cares if it's really popular, so want to avoid if people really think it's going to be the next Jack / Oliver.

Becoming too popular - yes or no?

TrinityRhino · 06/02/2009 21:27

my cousin is called this
he will be in his late 20s now
have never heard of another ever

Cheekster · 06/02/2009 21:28

In the school I work (approx 300 children), there are 3 Zac's.

Other than that I know of one other so I wouldnt say it is too popular at the minute, but then it could change.

pollywobbledoodle · 06/02/2009 21:29

don't know any.....but am from the black country....does that count

Boobz · 06/02/2009 21:30

Oh good. Am pleasantly surprised. DS1 (if a boy) looks sets to be Zachary James then.

Good-o.

Yes it is getting popular.I know 3 Zachs,Zac,Zachary who are under 4 years old!

We also used to have a Great Dane called Zac.

pollywobbledoodle · 06/02/2009 22:18

isn't there a zac in high school musical....is that a signpost to impending popularity?

jellybeans · 07/02/2009 11:07

dont know any with full name but know a few Zaks

Gorionine · 07/02/2009 11:14

We have Zachariah here, we do not shorten it.

Picante · 07/02/2009 11:19

I too love it - do you think it's ok with a surname starting with K?

Gorionine · 07/02/2009 11:55

Picante, go there to see if it fits the right criteria!

jellybeans · 07/02/2009 12:24

Try here
for how your name would look in various scenarios, it's fab.

CarryOnUpTheLiffey · 07/02/2009 12:44

I think with Zack Ephron of HSM it may become popular, but not in the same league as Max or Sam or Jake.

I wouldn't pick it with a surname beginning with K though.

Picante · 07/02/2009 14:25

Oh that site is lovely jellybeans!

pulapula · 07/02/2009 15:16

I think it is becoming more popular but not that common yet.

It's on my list, but I don't mind popular names as my DD and DS are both in the top 15.
